About Niels

Until 2024, I worked for a major American sports brand, holding roles in operations, program management, and business development. I was also part of the extended leadership team for my business unit and provided peer coaching and mentoring to junior and mid-level colleagues.
Many of these conversations took place over coffee and became one of the most rewarding parts of my week. So that’s where the name of my practice comes from: Coffees & Coaching, focused, one-hour to 90 minute sessions that deliver practical value and clear takeaways.

Throughout my career, I’ve gained extensive experience working in multidisciplinary, multicultural, and multigenerational teams in both flat and matrix organizations.

My background in creative design has given me a particular passion for career and leadership coaching for creative professionals. I believe creative thinkers possess many of the qualities needed to become effective leaders and I help clients develop an authentic leadership style, build confidence, and grow into leadership roles in a way that feels natural to them.

I also work with organizations on stress management, employee well-being, and burnout prevention.

On a personal note, I live in Amsterdam with my wife and our wirehaired dachshund Puck. I was born in Amsterdam to a Dutch father and Indonesian mother. I spent part of my formative years in Indonesia and completed part of my studies in the United States.
